David Curran
David Curran was appointed CIO at Westpac in September 2014, a post in which he hopes to create a world-class tech team with sights set firmly on the bank’s goal to be number one by 2017. He joined Westpac in February 2014 as a consultant on the group’s banking technology modernisation programme. Curran has almost 30 years’ experience, with proven expertise in IT and financial services as well as the implementation of large, complex projects. Prior to joining Westpac, he spent ten years in senior roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He also spent 16 years at Accenture where he was a partner, primarily consulting on financial services.
