Carole Berndt is the Global Head of Transaction Services, part of the Corporate and Institutional Banking division at RBS. In this role she is responsible for the end to end management of the transaction banking business, providing core cash management, trade and liquidity to multi-national corporations, and financial institutions, globally. Her current role is the culmination of a career that has encompassed a range of industries, roles and has seen her work in Asia, the Americas and now in Europe. Prior to joining RBS, Berndt worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was head of Global Transaction Services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), based in London. Berndt also worked for Citigroup in New York, where she led the Client Delivery team, with global responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of implementation, service and client technology for its global treasury products portfolio. Berndt has also worked in Corporate Banking for Citigroup in Hong Kong where she held various roles ranging from product management and reengineering to business management and client service. Prior to Citigroup, Berndt worked at American Express, in the Merchant Service eCommerce group for Asia, working across the key markets of Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
