Asishkumar Chautan
Asishkumar Chautan is currently managing director and CEO of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). He is considered an expert in financial market policies, microstructure, information technology, organised retail, telecommunications and Indian social issues. He has been responsible for bringing the fastest trading system into India, introducing the use of mobile trading, bringing equity, currency and interest rate derivative at BSE. He has received numerous awards, including from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and The Asian Banker. Prior to BSE, Chautan wa CIO of Reliance Communications. He later became President and CIO of the group. He also served as the CEO of Mumbai Indians and CEO of Reliance Infosolutions. In 1993 Ashish joined National Stock Exchange of India, where he was a member of the core team. He successfully set up the first screen-based trading framework in equities in India which contributed to it becoming the largest equities market in India. He holds a bachelor‘s degree in mechanical engineering from India Institute Technology, Bombay and PGDM from IIM Calcutta.
