K.V. Kamath
Kamath is responsible for transforming ICICI Bank, India's largest private sector bank, from a small player into the institution it is today. He joined ICICI in 1971 and in 1988, he joined the Asian Development Bank and spent several years in Southeast Asia before returning to ICICI as its managing director and CEO in 1996. Under his leadership, ICICI became a diversified, technology-driven financial services group, and a leader across banking, insurance and asset management sectors in India and internationally. He retired as managing director and CEO in 2009 to become non-executive chairman of the bank.
