Aditya Puri
Puri has been the managing director of HDFC Bank, India’s second largest privately owned lender, since it was founded in 1994. He has about 36 years banking experience in India and overseas. Since launching HDFC Bank in 1994 on behalf of mortgage lender Housing Development Finance, its controlling shareholder, Puri has built it into India’s third largest bank by market capitalisation, behind State Bank of India and ICICI Bank, while adhering to disciplined lending standards.
