Ranee Jayamaha joined Hatton National Bank on March
31st 2011 as chairman. She is currently an advisor to the Sri Lankan
president. From 2004-2009, Jayamaha was deputy
governor of the Central Bank of Sri
Lanka, responsible for the stability of the
country’s financial system. While on release from the central bank, Jayamaha
served as secretary of the presidential commission on finance & banking, as
advisor to the financial sector reform committee of the ministry of finance and
as special advisor (economic) to the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. She has over 37 years of extensive experience
in the fields of economics, banking, finance, regulation and administration.
Prior to this, he was with Taiwan’s Ta Chong Bank,
which he joined in 2004, increasing Ta Chong Bank’s market position and completing
a significant recapitalization programme by inviting Carlyle Group to invest $741
million in the bank. From 1978 to 2004, Chen played a variety of roles in
Citibank, including as senior credit officer managing the credit department,
structured finance group, and corporate banking group. Chen’s wide range of
experience covers corporate banking, consumer banking, and the treasury
business. He obtained his MBA from Taiwan’s
National Chiao Tung University in 1976.
