Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala
Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala has been the managing director and CEO of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DESE) since April 2013. Under his leadership, DSE has been transformed into a demutualized exchange. He is responsible in the process of implementing a new automated trading system and launching of capital market products. For 20 years Dr. Bala was been involved in teaching. He started as a lecturer of accounting and became professor in 2011 at Dhaka University. He has also rendered his professional services with the National Board of Revenue, Bangladesh Bank, ICB Securities Trading Company and The Bangladesh institute of Capital Markets. Dr. Bala was also elected as councillor in the National council of Institute of cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh. He was a chairman of ICMAB’S Dhaka Branch Council and also worked as an editor of ICMab’s Journal. He has published 63 research articles, 9 research monographs, 8 books, 1 study manual, 39 seminar papers and contributed 9 entries in Banglapedia.
